Exploring the Art of Chainmaille: A Unique Jewelry Journey
How it all began

I have been a lover of European medieval and Renaissance history for as long as I can remember. Aside from the romanticized version that books and movies portray, there is so much to be found in the art and music (and scandals!) from that time period. Add in the fantasy aspect of it (like the many books I devour and the "So you Want to be a Hero" RPGs from my pre-teen/teen years that I still play with my rogue every so often) and it just makes it even that much more amazing.
Armor and weaponry have also caught my fancy for many years. I mean, how cool would it be to wield a sword and wear armor and complete quests for glory other than with a D&D campaign?! Realizing that would not be a practical day-to-day option, my nephew bought me a DIY chainmaille kit for Christmas one year.
That changed the game completely.
It was like bad @$$ knitting with metal. Not only was it cathartic, I felt a rush of power that I was keeping this mini-version of armor on my wrist. Creating it was so much fun, but hearing people say how unique and different it was and could I also make one for them? It was a no-brainer.
And thus Bedore Designs began.
I've learned a lot since then--about materials, weaves, and pliers, and started this fun little business to help supplement my teacher's salary. I still have more to learn, as we all are constantly learning in life.
But I'm having fun doing it, people dig it, and that's what matters.
I hope you find something here that you like. Because I've loved creating each and every one the things you see here.
And in case you were wondering--yes, I did make myself a full shirt of armor. :)
